What Niche Should I Choose? Most Common Mistakes of Choosing the Niche
Me and my partner Alex, we have been active lately at one not so big Affiliate Marketing forum lately. And after spending a few days on helping people to start making money, or help increase their profits, we noticed one HUGE issue.
And that issue goes through every second thread – it seems like it`s the biggest problem in the world! And honestly, I remembered myself when just starting out. Man, it was really hard.
Ok, not to babble here a lot, I will just take a shortcut, and after telling you the problem we saw, I will show you how to solve it.
So. The biggest problem for every second person on the forum, is what niche to choose, and what to write on the website.
Ok, now – before I go further. We are NOT going to think about what to write to people. We are JUST going to talk about how to choose the right niche, and then, we`ll come up with ideas on what to write on, very, very easily.
The definition of a niche: a niche is a group of people who share the same passions, interests, or have the same problems. And the more of them they have, the better for you.
The niche is all about the people. Not the product, not the topic. Just the people and their problems.
Good examples:
Below I list a few niches so that you know what I mean by saying that a niche is a group of people.
A good niche is pregnant women. See – this is a group of people. Not the pregnancy itself is a niche, but women, who are pregnant. They have so many interests, they will face so many issues before giving birth, and after it, they will have questions and passions, for years to come! Here is where you come to help.
Another good one – puppy owners. They will want to train their puppies. They will need advice on how to feed them, want to know all about their hair cuts, their breeding, and so on. Again, this is a group of people – puppy owners. Not puppies, or dogs, as a niche. Some people think that “dog training” is a niche. But that`s just one problem of dog owners, and not a very good niche actually! In a niche, you have to be able to find many, many problems of passions of those people.
Think about ship owners. They are interested in Insurance, ship parking, taxes, marine life, even fishing, and creating unique interior! So many things those people face every day! Just think about those people and you will see many, many ways to help them.
College Students. These people have so many things of interest: from stress and time management, to finding a job, getting a good loan, low price life insurance, even cheap but reliable car insurance, getting into relationship, and so much more. These are all people, with their problems.
To make huge money in any niche, you have to make sure you can solve some problems of those people. My suggestion is, when you find a niche – a group of people, find at least 10 problems they have. You will be making money by solving those problems! That`s where the secret is: find a group of people. Find out what they want. What they can`t live without. And just give it to them!
Yes, that`s definitely a lot of work. Choosing a niche and starting a campaign, can actually take anywhere between two to four weeks.
